Due to the different uses and use environmental conditions of color coated steel sheets, there are many factors that affect its service life. According to the use function, the service life of color coated steel sheets can be divided into the following types:
1) Decorative service life, which refers to subjective fading, chalking, cracking, and partial peeling of the coating on the surface of the color steel plate. It has an impact on the image and beauty of the building, but it has not yet reached the point where the coating loses its protective effect.
2) The service life of coating refurbishment refers to the use time for most of the delamination and rust spots on the surface of the color steel plate to cause further corrosion of the substrate.
3) The service life refers to the long-term use of the color steel plate without refurbishment until serious corrosion occurs and it can no longer be used.
From the perspective of the types of color plates commonly used in my country and the normal use environment, the service life of color coated steel plates for construction can generally be:
Decorative service life: 8-12 years;
Refurbishment service life: 12-20 years;
Service life: more than 20 years.
