1. High reliability of hot air welding
Seamless integration: TPO coils can form continuous, seamless seams through hot air welding (hot air welding), and the strength of the welds is close to or even reaches the strength of the parent material itself (≥85%), effectively avoiding the risk of leakage at the joints.
Mature process: The welding temperature (usually 400-500℃) and speed are easy to control. During construction, an automatic crawling welder or a handheld welding gun can be used to ensure that the welds are uniform and dense.
2. Excellent material compatibility
Homogeneous plasticizer-free: TPO does not contain plasticizers (such as phthalates in PVC), and the welds will not be weakened due to plasticizer migration during welding, and the long-term stability is better.
Enhanced self-adhesion: Some TPO coils are designed to combine self-adhesive layers with welding to further improve the sealing of the seams.
3. Wide adaptability to construction temperature
Good low-temperature welding performance: TPO can still maintain flexibility in low-temperature environments (such as -20°C), and reliable welding can be achieved by adjusting welding parameters. Its adaptability is better than some traditional materials (such as SBS modified asphalt coil).
Strong high-temperature stability: TPO has excellent high-temperature resistance (usually can withstand short-term high temperatures above 120°C), and it is not easy to cause coil deformation or performance degradation due to overheating during welding.
4. Environmental protection and safety
No harmful gas release: No open flame is required during welding, and no toxic smoke is generated (such as PVC welding may release hydrogen chloride gas), which meets the requirements of green building and construction safety.
Recyclability: TPO materials can be repeatedly processed by thermoplasticity, and welding scraps can be recycled to reduce resource waste.
5. Long-term durability
Strong anti-aging performance: TPO has a stable molecular structure, the welding area is resistant to ultraviolet rays, ozone and chemical corrosion, and the seams are not easy to crack or peel off during long-term use.
Synchronicity of thermal expansion and contraction: The thermal expansion coefficient of TPO is consistent with that of the weld material, and the overall coordinated deformation occurs when the temperature changes, avoiding joint failure caused by stress concentration.
6. Construction efficiency and economy
Fast welding: The automatic welding machine can achieve efficient continuous welding (speed can reach 0.5-2 meters/minute), greatly shortening the construction period.
Reduce auxiliary materials: No adhesives or solvents are required, reducing material costs and environmental pollution risks.
